BUILDING LIFE (sermons)
Malachi 3:8. Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Through Malachi, God asked the question, "Do you trust me?" That is a fair question. Do you trust Him? Throughout the old testiment God gave men specific instructions to build things for the salvation of men, glorifying God and uniting the congregation. God's instructions to Noah resulted in a boat surviving a storm, withholding the winds, buffeting the waves and safely setting Noah and his family on the mountain. Had Noah not trusted God his family would have suffered and died in that onslought.
God's gives us specific instructions on building our family life, our study life, our church life and our life's priorities. The question is do we trust God. Will you bend your will to the wisdom of the creater of the universe. The problem we have today is that we have decided that God's instructions are out of date, overrated and not for us. We don't trust God, we trust ourselves. So we have built families without fathers, churches without leadership, study without the Word and lives without priorities. God says that we have ignored His word to our detriment and we live in a curse. He also says, prove me; change your life and trust me and see the blessings that I give you.
Psalms 127:1. Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
